Common fault maintenance of electric vehicle chargers Since the input circuit of electric vehicle chargers works under the condition of high voltage and too much current, the failure rate is the highest. Such as high-voltage and high-current rectifier transistors, filter capacitors, switching power tubes, etc., and the second ones that are more easily damaged are rectifier diodes, protection diodes, filter capacitors, and current-limiting resistors in the output rectifier part.


1. Visual inspection

Look at the capacitor: the more obvious feature is that the capacitor is covered with a certain solution. Under the working environment exceeding the standard, the capacitor will heat up and self-explode to relieve the pressure that the body and mind cannot bear. The small firecrackers disappeared without a trace, leaving only some small scraps of paper. Resistor: After heating and overloading, it will change color or smoke. Of course, the resistor will self-explode, explode or part of itself will fly away.


2. Resistance method

Use a digital multimeter to measure the suspected part of the circuit. Generally, we use a diode file for measurement, that is, short-circuit 2 test leads, and the file that the multimeter will call. Before measuring the resistance, we will do some necessary discharge behaviors. After confirming that it is not plugged into the market In the case of electricity, we use the camera to short-circuit some capacitors one by one. Don’t be afraid that sparks and sounds will be emitted when the capacitor is discharged, and then we will measure the resistance value on the road.


3.voltage method

Learning to measure voltage is one of the basic skills of maintenance. Measuring with electricity on the road is a relatively dangerous behavior. We still need to do it when necessary. This behavior is not only for our own safety, but also for accidental damage to the charging due to operation. The possibility of the charger is very high. If the charger is broken, we should not cry and be sad. The best technicians will make mistakes, even the masters cannot avoid it. We just need to remember that measuring voltage has a clear purpose, and we must not blindly charge and measure it around, this is a taboo.


4. Substitution method

Replacement is to replace some components. The replaced components may be new ones or removed from a normal working electric vehicle charger. Why do we need to replace them? This method is generally in our maintenance. Relatively speaking, the bottleneck, we will have such an idea, the replacement is more suitable for specific devices such as capacitors, integrated blocks and other devices that may be softly damaged. For other hard devices, we do not need or need to consider to replace it.


5. Contrast method

The so-called comparison method is to find an identical or similar charger and use it as a template to compare and eliminate and narrow the scope of faults in many ways, including: resistance method, voltage method, and replacement method!
